We are so excited you are considering joining Loop! Loop is working to solve a major issue in our world today and we would love to partner with you in creating a more sustainable life.
Why Join Loop?
We believe there is no such thing as food waste. Food can always be used in some capacity depending on what state it is in. First, for human consumption and for sale, then for human consumption for charities and non-profit organizations. Next, it can be used for animal food, and lastly to compost into rich soil to use for growing more produce.
Loop strives to keep food out of landfills and redirect it to people or animals that can make the best use of it. Sound like something you would like to be a part of? Take the first step and apply to join Loop today!
First Step, Apply
Once you have completed the application you will receive an automated email from Loop, make sure you read it through, it contains some important information. Check your junk mail if you don’t see it right away!
There can be long waiting lists in some areas so we may not contact you right away after you submit your application, but don't worry. If you got your automated email response, we got your application and are working behind the scenes to find you a spot in the program.
We Will Contact You
As soon as space opens up in your area someone from the Loop team will give you a call to talk about the next steps. While you wait consider a few things:
- Do you have the ability to do weekly pickups?
- Do you want to do occasional pickups?
- How far are you willing to drive for your pickups?
- What size of loads are you able to accommodate with the number of animals you have?
- Do you have any questions that need to be answered before moving further in the program?
After you get the call from us we will set you up with a time to complete your training for Loop.
Training
You will be trained in the procedures of Loop, how to do pickups, and what pickups look like, as well as covering some legal bases, and anything else you need to know as a Loop farm. Now you’re in! All you have to do is wait for your first pickup day to arrive.
Your First Pickup
For now, all you need to know about your first pickup is to show up, take everything, be kind to the staff, and enter your data. Once you are trained you will also be set up with a Loop account and will have access to many more resources to help prepare you for your first pickup.
Sorting Your Load
Once you arrive home with your Loop load it is time to sort it for your animals! Organizing what you received right away can make feeding throughout the week much easier. If you receive more than you need for that week, share it with other farmers for their animals!
Tell Us About Your Pickup
The final step of your pickup is to let us know what you received. It’s simple but essential and must be completed within 24 hours of your pickup. We’ll show you how to do this later!
Get in Touch
Lastly, but most importantly, get in touch to let us know how things are going. Connect with the Loop community on Facebook, they are a huge help with any questions. The Loop farmers on Facebook can offer tips and tricks to help solve any problems you are struggling with.
Reach out to us as well! We are always ready and willing to help. Call, email, or text, and let us know how things are going and how we can help!
